About
The first solo show of DMV area artist Lindsay Adams “Two Things Can Be True” was the culmination of Adams’ first artistic evolution. I fell in love with her style of painting and her ability to convey contemplation, longing, love, joy and content through dreamy floral landscapes.
Excerpt of Exhibiton Statement Written by Maleke Glee:
“Two Things Can Be True” is an idiom denoting the complexity of existence. Embracing our humanity is resistance to fracture, compartmentalize and restrain our whole, complex selves. Such resistance may not be thundering but reserved with self-satisfaction. Adams’ figures and landscapes express individual self-importance through posture, gaze, tones, gradients, and shapes. The women depicted gaze forward yet convey an interest within, an emotionality uninformed by the external.
